• Clay is heated when kneaded and dehydrated out of its core. This heating vacuum kneading apparatus controls the latter process easier.
    • The kneaded clay is made into roofing tiles in this production line. Each piece is shaped accurately.
    • Molded roofing tiles are dried carefully so that their shape and measurement stays consistent. Manufacturers of the roofing tiles in the Sekisyu area, adopting the method of drying them over the grid, to meet the needs of consumers.
    • The roofing tiles produced in Sekisyu area are characterized by being glazed and fired in the kiln. Our original glazes have enjoyed an established reputation for their waterproof effectiveness.
    • The firing temperature can be raised above 1,200℃ (2,192°F) by use of LPG. As a result, the hardened glazed surface embodies beauty and sturdiness.
    • Finally, the roofing tiles produced automatically are double-checked both with the naked eye and with an automated warp inspecting apparatus. Onlyproducts passed by inspection are shipped.
    • Bound and wrapped automatically, finished products are shipped to various areas, domestic or foreign.

The History of Kimura Roofing Tiles Co., Ltd.

  • Started producing glossy brown roofing tiles at 1501 Tsunotsu-cho, Gotsu-shi, in April 1931.
  • Constructed the second factory in Asari-cho, Gotsu-shi, in March 1948.
  • Moved to 1945 Tsunotsu-cho, Gotsu-shi changing its organization into Kimura Roofing Tiles, Co., Ltd. in July 1951.
  • Closed down the factory in Asari-cho in February 1960.
  • Changed the climbing kiln into the tunneling kiln for firing in February 1970.
  • Finished the second tunneling kiln in February 1973.
  • Finished the third tunneling kiln in February 1976.
  • Renewed the first tunneling kiln in February 1978.
  • Changed 56-B-typed field roofing tiles, Japanese style, into 53-B-typed ones in June 1978.
